Day 1 & 2 - Travel Days

Travel Days: Monday, July 6 & Tuesday, July 7:

(Picture left: Louis "not" sleeping.)

We were a little delayed in leaving the church, so arrival at the airport was rushed. Even still, we all made it on the plane in time for departure.

Our flight was smooth and a smooth landing, then things started to get a little rocky in Budapest, Hungary. First of all, the suitcase with all of the craft items did not arrive, along with Gerry's two checked bags. (Picture right: waiting for lost luggage in the airport).

While we waited for the airlines to track down the missing luggage, we attempted to load the rest of the luggage into the team bus. However, we soon discovered that the bus would only hold half of our luggage. So, just outside the airport, we began our second wait for a van to bring by a trailer to tow behind the bus. In a state of exhaustion, the team remained sanctified in both posture and speech. Finally, the trailer arrived and the team was able to board the bus to get lunch at Burger King near the airport. We finished lunch just in time for the "lost" luggage to arrive at the airport, so that we didn't have to wait three days for it to arrive at our hotel. Once back on the bus, the entire mission's team crashed in exhaustion during our 3.5 hour drive to Oradea, Romania.

We arrived at the Continental Hotel around 9pm on Tuesday (local time), and quickly showered before heading to our first team dinner in Romania. On the way to dinner, Pastor Charles forgot to tuck & roll. We will have more to this story tomorrow. After a nice dinner at White Lilies the team crashed in their hotel rooms after 30+ hours of restlessness and sleep deprivation. If you haven't heard from any of the team yet, we are all doing well and haven't had time to email or call home yet. Please be patient as we adjust to the time change.

  1. It is good to know you all made it there safely, with the luggage. Job 8:21 says, God will yet fill your mouth with laughter and your lips with shouts of joy. This is our prayer for you today. Sheila & Mel
